Our Summer "Break" is OVER!

Thursday night, Tanya and I got an email from our principal.  It read, "Movers came today.  Your things are in your classroom. :-)"
So, Friday morning, Tanya went to the school to check things out.  And sure enough, our things from the old classroom are now in the new classroom.
OMG!  That white thing there in the middle, used to be a shelf...
We have A LOT to do!  But we could not be more relieved to FINALLY have only our things in the new classroom now!

Our student orientation and parent night are both 2 weeks from Monday.  Guess what we will be doing until then????  We have to put our room together, do our bulletin boards, move a few more things, make all the name tags, etc and do all the regular paper work type of things.  But today, Tanya is coming to my house and we are making 18 of the crate storage seats!!  We will be using them at our reading tables and as seats for the students to use at our computers.  Can't wait to post pictures of our finished products!!  Have a great weekend everyone!!

  3. Thanks for the comments!! Jackie, I get excited, too! It's just the thrill of everything being new and a fresh start.
That shelf falls apart all the time. If we can't get it back together and make it stay that way, no big deal. It has served it's purpose well for a long time!

  4. Hi Little Sis,
That room looks huge. Hope it feels that way once the kiddos come in and all the STUFF is set up!

I also saw the crate stools y'all made. They are super cute.

Can't wait to see the room. You know I'll be happy to come and do what ever you need me to do.

  5. Stopping thru for the very first time, having found you on the Top50K blogs list. I've come to the best to learn..... This summer I'm attempting to figure out how to connect my blog (as an author/illustrator) to a wider world of educators. I have lots to learn!!

I'm so glad that you thought to take pictures of the 'before' look of your room. I often forget to start documenting at the very beginning.... then wish I'd remembered.

Can't wait to see how it all pulls together. It will be awesome, I'm sure. Congrats on being singled out for such an amazing honor!!
