We met in 2000 when we were both first year teachers. We were teaching first grade across the hall from each other. We now are in our third year of team teaching kindergarten. We have a combined class and share 40 of the most entertaining 5 and 6 year olds. We absolutely love teaching kindergarten and are now enjoying our much better classroom this year!
When Tanya is not teaching, she enjoys reading, cheering on the Crimson Tide, and traveling. She is married to Michael and they have two handsome sons. Joshua is a freshman at The University of Alabama and Chris is a junior in high school.
When Cindy is not teaching, she is either watching her 14 year old son play baseball or watching her 17 year old daughter play tennis. She has been married to Mark for 23 years. She enjoys cheering on the Crimson Tide as well.
Tanya and Cindy share a love for photography and the beach!
One thing we love about a new month is when we get to pull out a whole new group of books on CDs for our kiddos to listen to at our "Listening to Reading" literacy station. We have started using the incredible Deanna Jump's reading response sheets from her "Templates for Reading Workshop & Reading Responses" unit sold on TpT. Here is an example of the response sheet we used last week for setting. After the students listen to the selected book, they fill out the sheet we are using that week with words or pictures. What do your students do at your listening station? We would love to hear your suggestions...
what a cool idea! I think I am going to make some sheets like that for my listening station...you inspired me!
